​On 17th October 2016, CAMWIB hosted its first Michaelmas Welcome Drinks as a means of welcoming new and returning members to the society. As well as being a great opportunity for our members to get to know one another, it also enabled the Committee to showcase our new termcard and to talk to individual women about CAMWIB's role in the Cambridge careers scene. It was an exciting first event of the term and we are looking forward to seeing our members at CAMWIB events in the weeks to come. 

CAMWIB was delighted to host some of the top corporate firms at our Annual Networking Event. Attending firms included: APT, American Express, Blackstone, Barclays, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, KPMG, Macfarlanes, McKinsey and Oliver Wyman. In the stylish setting of Novi Cocktail Bar, the representatives from each firm kindly offered words of advice to CAMWIB members about how to better their internship and graduate scheme applications; they also shed some light on what it takes to be accepted into highly-competitive firms. As the biggest CAMWIB event to date, it was brilliant to see so many of our members getting ahead of the game by making connections with recruiters. ​

On 3rd November 2016, CAMWIB held its first panel discussion of the year, 'Starting a Career in Consulting".  We were pleased to welcome: Natasa Maraka, Manager at Accenture, Stasia Smith, Managing Consultant at Capgemini, Fiona Bell, Partner at RSM, and Kaijia Gu, Oliver Wyman. As well as discussing their own careers and the differences between their respective firms, all four women offered invaluable advice to attendees about how to go about starting a career in consulting, making it a highly successful event for all. 

On 21st November 2016, we were very fortunate to co-host a Consultancy Case Workshop with one of our key sponsors, Oliver Wyman. Targeted towards students applying for an internship in management consultancy this year, the workshop taught us about techniques as to how to approach the case interview and also highlighted the type of work a graduate student might find themselves involved in if they were to join Oliver Wyman. ​​
